On Twitter and in the Workplace, It's Power to the Connectors

This article is very interesting as it shows the new trends change the rules in business and on Internet.

Indeed, a few years ago, if people wanted to be successful in their career, they had to prove their value by themselves. People with a lof of experience were also favored. Nowadays, a good and relevant network can compensate for some lack of experience or competence. Having a good networking induce to be a good communicator and to be able to unify people around same interests.

Today's generations grew with advanced technologies and Internet expansion. For them, online networking is a leisure activity and a way of thinking. They just have to learn how to use their networks in a relevant way that will help them to develop their professional career.

For me, 'formal assignments' and 'connector skills' are linked in the way that connector skills allow people to unify each other. People belonging to the same network feel like they have to help each other. This reaction allow them to ask others formal assignments in order to help them. As a matter of fact, when someone use his network to help him to do something, there will have a kind of compensation in return.
