Article Summary #7: Time for US to treat China equally

China is currently the second world power but is still considered by Westerners as an emerging country and the "world workshop".

But China is fed up with this image and starts now to reinforce its position on the world frontstage.

Moreover, China becomes more and more powerful as it owns now the biggest part of the US debt.

So, the US and the world in general had better to change its point of view about China and consider it as a new economical power that also some power on world political matters.

China raises its voice and is decided to be heard.

Article Summary #6: People believe that airlines should charge Fat Tax

I found this article really interesting because depicts what could become a trend in the T&T industry.

Indeed, we know that the number of obese people increases each year and it concerns now all the countries in the world (before, western countries were mostly concerned, now, even Asia is reached)

I do not know if the "Fat-Tax" is a fair measure or not but what is sure is that obese people will be likely to be considered as abnormal passengers. It can be considered in a way as a kind of discrimination.

On the other hand, airline companies could catch the opportunity to develop services adapted to obese people, such as larger seats, more copious meal, etc...

As a conclusion, we can ask ourselves if all people with specfic characteristics could raise new opportunities. That is to say, will airline companies create special airplanes for blind people in which everything would be written in Braille?

Are new segments raising? Let's see what will happen.

Article Summary #5: Why Google has played the China situation brilliantly

This article has caught my attention as I spend some years in China. When I lived there, I witnessed the Chinese Government control on Internet. Indeed, China is a country that is still strongly ruled and Internet is regularly censored.

This governmental censure does not represent a problem for Chinese people, but for foreigners, it does. Indeed, in the Western mentalities, freedom of expression is a right and has to present on Internet. Censure is considered as the symbol of an authoritarian system.

Censure on Internet leads to information distortion, what has a really negative impact on business. Indeed, business is based on information and trust.

By threating China to give up the market, Google underlines those bad impacts on business and dissuades foreign companies and investors to make business with China.

China had better to consider Google call to order if it wants to keep its economical increase.

On Twitter and in the Workplace, It's Power to the Connectors

This article is very interesting as it shows the new trends change the rules in business and on Internet.

Indeed, a few years ago, if people wanted to be successful in their career, they had to prove their value by themselves. People with a lof of experience were also favored. Nowadays, a good and relevant network can compensate for some lack of experience or competence. Having a good networking induce to be a good communicator and to be able to unify people around same interests.

Today's generations grew with advanced technologies and Internet expansion. For them, online networking is a leisure activity and a way of thinking. They just have to learn how to use their networks in a relevant way that will help them to develop their professional career.

For me, 'formal assignments' and 'connector skills' are linked in the way that connector skills allow people to unify each other. People belonging to the same network feel like they have to help each other. This reaction allow them to ask others formal assignments in order to help them. As a matter of fact, when someone use his network to help him to do something, there will have a kind of compensation in return.
